Collection: GURGLE POT

The Inspiration:
Matt and his wife, Jennifer, were attending a wedding in a small French town in October 1995. They were staying with a host family who spoke French, while Matt and Jennifer spoke English. To help fill silences during dinner, Matt would repeatedly refill his water glass from the pitcher, which made a gurgling sound.
The creation:
After the wedding, Matt returned home to Washington and decided to design his own version of the pitcher. He created the Gurgle Pot, a fish-shaped pitcher that makes a gurgling sound when liquid is poured into it.

The success:
The Gurgle Pot has been featured in media, including The Handmaid's Tale, The Boys on Netflix, and on Stephen Colbert's desk. The Ellison's have sold more than a million Gurgle Pots, which are available in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

The Gurgle Pot's gurgling sound is produced when air trapped in the pitcher's hollow, fish-tail handle releases as the vessel returns to an upright position. The pot can be used as a pitcher, vase, ice breaker, or wine decanter.
